ABOUT CHAHTA NOIR
Shauntrice is a Black/Choctaw contemporary artist & curator loving in Kentucky. She was the inaugural Speed Art Museum Artist-In-Residence and Louisville Visual Art (LVA) Curatorial Fellow. Shauntrice's museum solo exhibition "Something in the Water" was featured at the Speed Art Museum 2021-22. Most recently, she curated a permanent exhibit entitled "Sweet Fire" with Play Cousins Collective in the Historic Lyles Mall.
In the summer of 2024 Shauntrice curated the Black Future Fest -- a West End celebration of Black art & culture in Louisville, Kentucky. Shauntrice's "Gateway" Collection debuted at the Muhammad Ali Center in April 2023 and she will return as the Elmer Lucille Allen Conference Curator at Spalding University in 2025.
